A Revision of the Genus Typhlodromus Scheuten (Acari: Phytoseiidae)

The genus Typhlodromus Scheuren is here revised and keyed to species. Two new subgenera, Trionus and Oudemanus are herein described and 27 species are illustrated, including 3 new species: Typhlodromus knisleyi, Typhlodromus quercicolus, and Typhlodromus zaheri. The following new synonomies are proposed: Typhlodromus perbibus Wainstein and Arutunjan as a junior synonym of Typhlodromus athiasae Porath and Swirski; Typhlodromus exhilaratus Ragusa as a junior synonym of Typhlodromus tiliae Oudemans; and Typhlodromus eucervix Karg and Edland as a junior synonym of Typhlodromus andrei Karg. The plant hosts, food hosts, and distributions are discussed.
