Abstract

In 2007, a review of the Anthrenus pimpinellae species group was published, a highly significant paper in the context of the current study, in which 16 species were listed. Much work has been carried out on the A. pimpinellae group since then and the species list now stands at 36. Tree new species are described in the current study: Anthrenus callaghanae, Anthrenus citrinus, and Anthrenus strejceki, and images of external and internal features are provided. Additionally, A. kafai Kadej and Háva, 2011 is designated as a new junior synonym of A. favidulus Reitter, 1889. For each species in the review, comments relating to taxonomy and distribution are included. Species are categorized into diferent lineages based on aedeagal structure, some¬times supplemented with other characters. An identification key to the lineages is presented.
