Abstract

A total of 152 species of scale insects (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha) from 55 countries were intercepted by quarantine inspectors in South Korea on consignments of plants and plant products at ports of entry from 2010 to 2025. A list of all the species identifed, along with the number of interceptions host species of agricultural commodities, countries of origin and the year of interception, are provided to help in the detection and identifcation of species of this important group of plant pests. In addition, data on intercepted species were analyzed to determine potential invasive species of scale insects that could threaten South Korean plants.
