Abstract
The geographic distribution, habitat, type of nesting behavior, and host spider families are delineated for the eight Holarctic species of Pompilidae (Hymenoptera) in the Nearctic Region: Caliadurgus fasciatellus (Spinola), Auplopus carbonarius (Scopoli), Evagetes crassicornis (Shuckard), Agenioideus (Gymnochares) cinctellus (Spinola), Anoplius (Anoplius) nigerrimus (Scopoli), Arachnospila (Ammosphex) anceps (Wesmael), Arachnospila (Arachnospila) fumipennis Zetterstedt, and Ceropales maculata Fabricius. The Holarctic distribution of these species is characterized by occurrence in northern North America, Europe, including Scandinavia, and Asia.
