Abstract
The Anthrenus maculifer group (Coleoptera: Dermestidae: Megatominae) consists of several similar looking species. Currently, three species within the group are considered valid: A. maculifer Reitter, A. albonotatus Pic, and A. difficilis Hava. Nevertheless, the descriptions associated with some of these species are brief and unhelpful. A sample of specimens labelled A. maculifer was borrowed from the Natural History Museum, London and Naturalis Biodiversity Centre, Leiden, with the goal of dissecting and redescribing the species. As a result of this work, two synonyms of A. maculifer were reinstated as full species: A. globiger Arrow and A. multimaculatus Pic, bringing the number of known species in the group to five.
